We use and explore these ministries to live out our Christian call to care for one another the way Christ first cared for us.
ChristCare Groups are gatherings of 5 to 12 people who meet on a regular basis with a trained and supervised leader to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and with each other. Whether the groups are Bible studies, support and accountability groups, prayer groups or mission teams, each ChristCare group typically does these four activities: community building and care, Biblical equipping (time in God’s word), prayer and worship, and mission service.
Caring for someone through a one-on-one caring ministry to those who are experiencing transition or difficulties in life. Stephen ministers are trained lay people providing one-to-one Christian caregiving in a confidential, non-judgmental caring relationship.
Lutherans and food are never far apart, and fellowship at Good Shepherd is often around the meal-table. This team manages the church’s kitchen facilities and helps provide meals for group events.
Good Shepherd men’s ministry usually meets once a month in the Fellowship Hall for food, fellowship, and spiritual discussion. Topics relate Christianity to current world issues, faith in the home and building our spirituality. This group also does service projects, attends service retreats and participates in other fun events!
The Girlfriends in God (GIG) ministry team seeks to support the spiritual growth of women of all ages in our congregation. Annual events on Mother’s Day, a Fall beach retreat, pool parties and other gatherings provide a time for fellowship, devotion, and thanksgiving for God’s work in our lives.
In Scripture, Martha was a faithful servant to Christ. The Helping Hands team strives to be faithful servants to people with basic needs such as cooking, transportation, and household chores.
The Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) encourages Christian fellowship leading to individual and group service to meet the changing needs of senior adults in our community. We sponsor many events throughout the year which are listed in the monthly newsletter and weekly Pewsletter.
