Faith Formation Classes
Faith Formation classes at Good Shepherd take place from 9:30 – 10:30 am. With classes for children, youth and adults, all are encouraged to attend.
3-Years-Old — 3rd Grade
Worship & Wonder is storytelling that instills both Old and New Testament themes as well as the rhythms of Lutheran-Christian worship. We believe that every student will leave Sunday School with a deeper understanding of scripture as well as feeling they have worshiped. Download Student Information Form
4th & 5th Grade
Once students exit the Worship & Wonder program, they are given their own age-appropriate Bible and really dig into it over the next two years of Sunday School. Each year is spent exploring one of the Testaments. By the end of 5th grade, their Bibles are marked up and ready for use in Pre-Confirmation! Download Student Information Form
When students enter middle school, they begin Pre-Confirmation on Sunday mornings. During this year, students blast through the Old and New Testaments with a strong focus on Jesus and our relationship with him. Participation in Pre-Confirmation and receiving the biblical overview greatly enhances the Confirmation experience to come. Download Student Information Form
7th & 8th Grade
7th grade students typically enter Good Shepherd’s Confirmation program. The bulk of the Confirmation program will occur on Sunday mornings, with occasional outside requirements. Session topics range from but are not limited to the Apostle’s Creed, Luther & the Reformation, faith & science, and our neighbor’s faith. One does not need to be enrolled in Confirmation to participate in these offerings; however, Confirmation students are expected to participate each week.
9th – 12th grade students gather each Sunday for caring conversation, devotion, service, and shared rituals. Accompanied by caring adults, this provides a time to tackle relevant issues in a safe space and point to Christ at work in their lives.
